While I’m not one for style debates, I *do* enjoy witnessing an old-school sneaker that’s been floating under-the-radar finally get its due. Over these past several months, the Palermos have made a slow-but-steady return to the fashion spotlight, most notably due to celebrity endorsements from the likes of Dua Lipa and Emily Ratajkowski. And if you ask me, the timing couldn’t be any better. The Palermo sneakers originally debuted in the 1980s, when they became a staple among soccer fans. So, what makes them appealing to a new generation? Simple—their comfort. These bad boys are constructed with durability and functionality in mind, featuring a suede/leather upper, rubber midsole and gum outsole which, per the brand, includes a distinctive traction pattern that enhances its grip. The shoes are also equipped with a mesh sock-liner, which promotes breathability, and a lace-up closure that allows for a firm, secure fit.
