If you’ve ever faced the struggle to open a bag of lollies from the supermarket – I feel for ya – a TikTok has revealed a game-changing revelation.

Anna Antonje, from Germany, shared a video of the “correct way” to open a lolly bag, capturing the views of a whopping 38 million people.

Rather than pulling apart the two top sides of the bag or tearing the top corner, the TikToker pulls the middle spine of the packet seamlessly down the back of the packet to create a small slit.

“Don’t tell me you KNEW that?!” she captioned the viral video.

While many people were shocked in the comments saying: “You’re telling me my entire 26 years of me on this earth was a LIE?”

“Why don’t they say that on the packaging?!” Another asked.

However, not everyone was completely surprised, with one person commenting: “How did people not know this?”

The video also reveals you can easily fold the packet up and use the torn piece of packaging to seamlessly close and tie the bag up.

Despite it seeming like a great idea to keep the lollies fresh, many people have been saying it “doesn’t matter” as they “never need to reseal them”.
